Alpine is an 3.5 month old, 50 lb Great Pyrenees puppy. Yes, he already weighs 50lbs, so Alpine will be very large when full grown! He could easily weigh over 100 lbs when full grown. Alpine has a gentle disposition and calm demeanor. He gets along well with the foster family’s two resident dogs, and is very comfortable around both young kids and adults. Due to his size, he may not be a good fit for families with toddlers, though. He is crate trained, sleeps through the night and is making great progress on his house training. Like most puppies, Alpine loves to play with and chew on toys, so he will need lots of toys to keep him from chewing things he shouldn't. He walks well on a leash, but has one peculiar habit. He sometimes just stops, sits, and won't budge until he is ready. Great Pyrs are known for being a little on the stubborn side! More leash training and practice will have him walking like a champ in no time. He will need a forever family who is ready, willing and able to provide training, play time, and lots of love. Alpine will be a wonderful addition to any family who would be happy to have a big, loving guy like him as part of the family.
